Search And Rescue Ends In Hurley Community After Deadly Floods
Search and rescue operations in the Hurley community of Buchanan County, Virginia have ended. And an autopsy will determine the cause of death and the identity of the one fatality in this weeks raging floods, that left the Town of Hurley covered in debris and mud. On Friday, Guesses Fork Road will be closed until seven pm. No vehicles will be allowed to travel on the road as construction crews continue to work to install basic infrastructure back to the area. The Virginia National Guard and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to deliver supplies to the residents of Guesses Fork, one of the hardest hit areas. The America Red Cross is also assisting and a shelter has been set up at Grundy Baptist Church on Edgewater Drive.
