Governor eulogizes THP security detail member killed in off-duty motorcycle crash
Governor Bill Lee took to social media to eulogize a member of his security detail killed in a motorcycle crash in Nashville.
Metro Police reported the death of Tennessee Highway Patrolman Aaron Rumsford hours after the fatal crash that occurred Sunday evening when he collided with an SUV as he turned onto Portland Avenue while off duty.
Lee said Rumsford, 29, had become a member of his family in the time he spent on the Executive Protection Unit and was a kind individual who devoted his life to protecting others.
Rumsford began his duty for the THP in 2015.
