Unicoi Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Vehicle

A Unicoi Tennessee woman is dead following a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian Thursday afternoon. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 61 year old Joanne Regina died on the scene after being hit by a vehicle as she was crossing Simerly Creek Road, returning from her mailbox. Regina was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet driven by 58 year old Shari Davidson, also of Unicoi, who was not injured in the fatal accident. The THP continues to investigate the crash and also say criminal charges are pending.
