Extended lane closures on W State of Franklin Road beginning Sept. 27

Johnson City Public Works announced extended lane closures on West State of Franklin Road beginning September 27th. The city says crews will be replacing water lines and installing new gravity sewer pipes in the area. The eastbound travel lane on W State of Franklin will be closed at Sevier Street to just beyond Ernest Street for several weeks. Officials say the sidewalk and trail will also be impacted. Motorists who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, use caution in construction zones, and observe the posted speed limits. No completion date has been announced for this project.
