Mobile morgue added as Ballad Health continues to carry large COVID patient rolls
Ballad Health says 599 patients in their system in Tennessee and Virginia are currently being treated for the coronavirus.
That total includes 371 people in the hospital, 105 in intensive care, and 215 in the safer-at-home care program.
Ballad noted the largest percentage of current patients are unvaccinated adults.
CEO Alan Levine also confirmed Wednesday evening the placement of a temporary mobile trailer morgue at their Johnson City facility to store the bodies of victims–an unfortunate consequence of the system’s current COVID caseload.
Today’s total number of inpatients with COVID-19 (371) as well as the total number of patients in the ICU (105) and the total number in the ICU using a ventilator (87) are alarming statistics. pic.twitter.com/RB6nCpbtS5
