Man Shot In Rogersville Officer Involved Shooting Dies
A man shot by a Rogersville Police officer after he refused the officer’s commands and turned his truck around and drove it at the officer has died. 32 year old Buster Lee Carpenter was the subject of a Be On The Lookout out of Hamblen County when Rogersville Police identified Carpenter’s truck on Main Street in Rogersville. Police attempted a traffic stop, but Carpenter made a U-turn and crashed into a house. The Officer got out of his cruiser and approached Carpenter who backed his truck up and struck the officers vehicle then drove the truck toward the officer who fired two shots. Carpenter was taken to a local hospital where he died Sunday according to an update from the TBI. The officer was not injured. The TBI continues to investigate the shooting.
