SWVA Early Childhood Education Success Stories On Display For ARC
First Lady Pamela Northam was in St. Paul Tuesday praising, some of the early childhood initiatives first piloted by the United Way of Southwest Virginia and now being used across the Commonwealth. One of those includes a new unified system of measurement and improvement which shows how a small family day home in rural SWVA can provide equitable, early childhood education services compared to expensive centers found in larger regions. Travis Staton, President and CEO of the United Way of Southwest Virginia told three governors and more than a dozen representatives from the Appalachian region early childhood education is a key to future economic growth.
