Long Term Recovery Group Forms In Hurley For Flood Victims
Flood relief efforts for the Hurley, Virginia community are now transitioning from emergency assistance to long term rebuilding. The small, southwest Virginia town was ravaged during August’s deadly flooding, that killed one person and caused millions of dollars in damages. Now, the Long-Term Recovery Group is coordinating with state officials and volunteer groups to assist Hurley residents in paying for repairs to owner-occupied homes. The group, is made up of 12 representatives from a wide variety of agencies in the Hurley community and held its first meeting Thursday night.
