Bristol, Virginia Public Schools closed on Oct. 29, Nov. 1 for employees to receive Moderna booster
Bristol, Virginia Public Schools Superintendent, Keith Perrigan, says students will not have school on October 29th and November 1st. This change comes from a high number of school system employees registering for the Moderna booster shot clinic on the 29th. Since over 200 employees have registered to receive this booster, Bristol, Virginia Public School officials decided to cancel school the following Monday, November 1st. This extra day off allows time for employees to get through any effects of the booster without worrying about returning to school that Monday. School officials say free childcare will be provided for working parents of elementary and middle school students during these off days, at Van Pelt Elementary and Virginia Middle School.
