Ballad Chairman, Tells Congress, Nursing Shortage Most Critical Issue Facing Rural Health Care
Ballad Health Chairman,and Chief Executive Officer Alan Levine, testified Tuesday in front of Tennessee United States Senator Marsha Blackburn and a Congressional Committee on a topic he has witnessed first hand in this region a nursing shortage. Levine, told Congressional members Tuesday, the most critical issue facing health care today, is a problem that existed before COVID19 and the nursing shortage has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. Levine revealed data showing some studies indicate an estimated 80 thousand nurses left the workforce in 2020, double the number ten years ago.
