Virginia’s Top Vaccine Doc Says Commonwealth Is Ready For Vaccine For Children Under Twelve
Virginia’s Top doc on vaccinations says his department has been working for several months for what appears will be the eventual rollout of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages five through eleven. Dr. Danny Avula, says the announcement made earlier this week is a milestone on the road toward emerging from the pandemic. Avula says the VDH is working with a wide range of healthcare partners to get this population of youth vaccinated. The Virginia Department of Health is awaiting action by the FDA and then the CDC’s finals decision, which could come as early as next week.
