Report: More Tennessee children in foster care are finding forever homes
More children in Tennessee’s foster care system are finding forever homes according to figures released by the Department of Children’s Services.
In federal fiscal year 2021, more than 1,600 children went to new families or subsidized permanent guardianship—an increase from 2020 numbers and the fourth consecutive year of more children exiting foster care.
November is National Adoption Month and Tennessee currently has 400 children in the state’s custody. The majority of them are older teenagers who are at risk due to a lack of adult guidance.
