Nursing class center at Carson Newman University gutted by fire

Days before final fall term exams officials at Carson Newman University are having to arrange alternative spaces for students as one of its class centers was gutted by fire.

Crews from Jefferson City and other localities converged on the Pederson Nursing Building just after 7:30 Friday morning.

Carson Newman social media reported no injuries and school officials were still assessing the damage to the structure as well as making plans for classroom assignments.
