Fired Sullivan County Teacher, Back Before Board That Fired Him

Fired Sullivan County teacher Matthew Hawn picked up the support of the African American Policy group on Monday in a press conference, that included a call from the author and the poet, Hawn cited to introduce “White Privilege”, a black perspective of the issue of race theory to his students at the former Sullivan Central High School. Hawn was terminated, but appealed and a hearing officer upheld that BOE decision to terminate Hawn. Hawn goes before the same Board that fired him in August, this afternoon at 430 to appeal the hearing officers decision.
