Sullivan Commissioners Approve Additional Funding For Jail Expansion

Sullivan County Commissioners set the ground work last year with a property tax increase in advance, and Tuesday night Commissioners agreed to provide additional funding for a much needed expansion to the County’s thirty year old jail. The funding will come from the 2022-2023 county budget. The County’s holding facility, has struggled with overcrowding issues for years is also expected to receive improvements to safety at the Blountville facility.
