VDH Changing Direction Of Mitigation Strategy For COVID !9

The Omicron Variant is spreading so quickly in Virginia, Health Department officials are stopping its attempt to investigate every case of COVID19. And instead, will now be focusing on follow up out outbreaks and cases in high risk settings. The virus continues to spread across the Commonwealth in high volumes and are now urging Virginian’s now, more than ever to get tested, stay home when you are infectious and notify contacts. Officials with the VDH say while this new direction makes the most sense now, the virus’ ability to mutate could change and mitigation strategies must be adaptable as well.
