Kingsport extends boil water advisory to Friday evening

A broken waterline in the Fairview Avenue area of Kingsport has been repaired, however city officials say the boil advisory for residents will remain in effect through Friday. According to a press release, crews have taken more than 150 water samples throughout the area to monitor the extent of city water affected.

City officials say due to the work required to get the water system back up and running properly, the boil water advisory is extended to Friday evening, at the earliest. Another update will be sent out by the city Friday morning. Updates and a detailed affected area map can be found on KingsportTN.gov.
