Fire Danger In Region Very High, Several Areas Fighting Brush Fires

A Virginia No Burn Ban before four PM went into effect earlier this week, and it couldn’t have come at a better time as dry conditions, along with high winds are keeping forestry officials busy throughout the region. Firefighters in Washington County Virginia are working to contain a seven acre fire that erupted Wednesday. In Tennessee, Johnson City Fire officials battled a debris fire on the property of OmniSource and a brush fire in Hawkins County kept firefighters busy as well. BTW, both of those blazes are now contained.
