Hawkins County man sent to life in prison for 2018 shooting death in Scott County, Virginia

A Hawkins County, Tennessee man convicted of killing a man who lived in his home for a short time has been sentenced to life in prison.

Robert Martin Jr. reportedly held his wife at gunpoint in May 2018 then zip-tied her to a chair accusing her of having an affair with 20-year-old Nicholas Salerno who was later found dead in the Yuma community of Scott County, Virginia.

Martin and his wife were in the process of divorcing when the incident occurred.
