Faith-based and non-profit Samaritan’s Purse based in nearby Boone, North Carolina has received a major boost to its fund-raising project to help those in Ukraine devastated by war.
Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick has announced the name and logo for Samaritans will be on the car of reigning NASCAR Cup champion Kyle Larson for this weekend’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Hendrick has pledged $200,000 toward the Samaritan effort for Ukraine and will donate additional funds following Sunday’s race. Hendrick plans to donate $2,000 per lap for every lap led by one of his three cars at Vegas.
