Virginia again named top-tier state for public health emergency preparedness

The Virginia Commonwealth was again named one of the top-tier states for public health emergency preparedness in 2022. An organization named Trust for America’s Health conducts studies for this annual report that measures state’s preparedness for emergencies such as infectious outbreaks, natural disasters, and man-made events.

Virginia Health officials say this ongoing validation of the Commonwealth’s public health emergency preparedness is a testament to the hard work of the thousands of employees with the Virginia Department of Health.
