Clintwood, Virginia man pleads guilty to bankruptcy fraud
A Clintwood, VA man pleaded guilty on Wednesday, 3/16 to bankruptcy fraud in federal court. David Bryan “Pokey” Stanley, 48, will be sentenced in June for charges stemming from a Chapter 7 bankruptcy he filed in 2020.
Court documents say Stanley concealed his ownership interest in a waste management company and failed to report his employment and income from that business on his bankruptcy filing. Officials say he testified under oath that he was not employed and had no income whatsoever. David Stanley faces a maximum of five years in prison.
