Data collected at Bristol’s Steele Creek Park to be featured in national scientific journal
Research data that was collected for more than a decade at Steele Creek Park in Bristol will be featured in an article for national scientific journal, Southeastern Naturalist. Researchers from The Nature Center at Steele Creek Park and Northeast State Community College compiled the data, regarding reptile and amphibious diversity in our region.
Authors of the study say the data will aid in conservation efforts in the Tri-Cities by providing a baseline for predicting amphibian and reptile species in places with little to no data. Of the 41 species listed in the article, 9 of them represent new species in Sullivan County.
