Two Kingsport Elementary School’s Shelter In Place Thursday Afternoon

Two Kingsport Elementary Schools were placed in a shelter in place situation on Thursday, following reports of an armed suspect in the neighborhood. Roosevelt and Jackson Elementary schools went into shelter in place around two thirty Thursday due to a safety situation in the surrounding community. According to Kingsport Police, officer took a suspect in custody. The investigation continues. No shots were fired, and no injuries reported, both schools dismissed at normal times following the lifting of the shelter in place order.
