Dollywood shuts down freefall ride following Orlando tragedy
Officials at the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge have temporarily shut down a ride that mimics a sudden drop attraction in Orlando—the site of a fatal accident last week.
The company that operates Dollywood said the move to take the ride out of service was out of an abundance of caution following the events of March 24 at Icon Park’s FreeFall tower where 14-year-old Tyre Sampson fell to his death.
An Associated Press report said the company that designed the Orlando ride also help develop Drop Line in Tennessee.
