Roan Mountain, Sycamore Shoals State Parks earn high ranks in “Go Green with Us” program

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation says 28 state parks achieved platinum status in the Go Green with Us program– which is dedicated to promoting environmental protection and sustainability.

This program incorporates guidelines within park operations to help staff and visitors practice environmental mindfulness. All platinum-level parks recycle what is available in their counties, practice food composting, and use low-volume water alternatives. The two local state parks that achieved platinum status in this program are Roan Mountain and Sycamore Shoals State Parks.
