North Carolina man dead after motorcycle wreck in Jonesborough

A North Carolina man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Jonesborough on Saturday. An initial report from Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton says George Eggers, 26, of Hickory, NC succumbed to his injuries in an ambulance while being transported to Johnson City Medical Center.

Police say Eggers was driving a Yamaha XVS on Summit Drive when he ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment. This crash remains under investigation and no further details are currently available.
