Planned Parenthood of Tennessee CEO promises fight over Roe v. Wade
Ashley Coffield, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Tennessee, defended a woman’s right to choose during an emergency news conference held in light of a Supreme Court opinion leaked to the media that signals an overturn of Roe V. Wade.
“Eliminating the right to an abortion will have serious life or death consequences for our patients and we will fight like hell to defend their lives,” she said Tuesday afternoon.
The CEO also said they had been planning for such a move by the court since 2019 and are now hiring more workers to help women who decide to have the procedure.
Coffield said their four clinics remain open and their services plan to help women financially and link them to abortion clinics out of state if the decision is dissolved.
