Southwest Virginia Teachers, Schools To Benefit From Compromise Budget Approval
Southwest Virginia teachers and schools as well as others across the Commonwealth will see more money coming their way after lawmakers in Richmond finally passed a compromise budget Wednesday. Teachers will see back to back five percent raises in the next two years, the first one going into effect in August. The budget also provides measurable increases in new investments for K-12 schools. Including additional funding for SRO’s in every high school, middle school and at least one SRO for every other elementary school.
