BTES and TVA call for customers to cool it on electricity use in midst of hot temps
Temperatures are forecast to shoot into the 90s this week and Bristol Tennessee Essential Services sent out an alert to customers to help conserve electricity to reduce the strain on TVA power grids in the coming days.
Those reduction steps include refraining from using dishwashers, dryers, and cooking equipment, reducing the use of cooling by adjusting the thermostat, and turning off lights, appliances, and other electrical items between 3 and 6 p.m.
