Humane director: ‘Dustin’ the kitten continues to improve following traumatic injuries
Hawkins County Humane Society Director Sandy Behnke says a kitten rescued by a sheriff’s deputy after having a leg deliberately cut off is showing signs of improvement.
Behnke said Dustin is undergoing a round of medicines before surgery and the agency is still accepting donations to assist in paying for Dustin’s treatment.
The director noted that one concerned fan has offered to build Dustin an omnidirectional prosthetic at a later time. She also noted that police are still searching for the man responsible for the kitten’s injuries.
