Kingsport Leaders, Raise Taxes 13 Cents, For Competitive Salaries And Wages

Salaries and wages are two contributing factors for Kingsport’s first property tax rate increase in eight years. Tuesday night City Council approved a thirteen cent tax hike to fund an increase that City Manager Chris McCartt says will help pay for competitive salaries and wages for city employees. The board also approved increases in both the water and sewer rates.
