TBI investigators said former Sullivan County officer lied about hours worked

A former Sullivan County, Tennessee deputy turned himself in after being charged in a TBI investigation that said he submitted false information on official documents about the hours he worked.

The case against 36-year-old Cody Cookenour was submitted to the District Attorney’s office and then presented to a grand jury that indicted him on one count of theft over $1,000.

Agents reported that Cookenour falsified work hours over an 11-month period beginning last April.
