Recent flooding not a contributing factor in fatal Buchanan County crash
Virginia State Police say a fatal crash that happened in Buchanan County on Wednesday was not a result of recent flooding. A preliminary report says the crash happened at around 5 PM on Route 460, and involved four vehicles.
A Chevy Malibu was traveling Westbound when it crossed the center line and struck both a Ford Escape and a Honda Civic. The report says moments later, a Ford F-150 came upon the crash and was unable to avoid striking the Civic.
The 52-year-old driver of the Chevy was taken to a hospital for life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Civic was also treated for injuries, and the female passenger of the Civic died at the scene. This crash remains under investigation by VSP, and no identities have yet been released.
