SWVA Airport Receiving Federal Funds For Runway Rehabilitation

A Southwest Virginia airport is getting a huge boost financially for rehabilitation of a existing runway. Lonesome Pine Airport in Wise County is receiving four point two million dollars in federal funds from the FAA’s 2022 Airport Improvement Program. The announcement is made by Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine. The funds will allow Lonesome Pine Airport to begin the important runway maintenance project that will make travel through Virginia safer, more convenient, and more accessible.
