UPDATE: Felony charge now filed in fatal Morristown crash

A statement from Morristown Police says a person of interest in a fatal car crash now has a warrant for his arrest on a felony charge of leaving the scene.

Investigators said Walter Noe Mendez is actively avoiding capture. He is now the main suspect in the death of a 1-year-old boy that was killed when a vehicle purposely backed into a home on Louise Avenue.

Mendez is a Hispanic male in his early 20s who has also used aliases in the past including Luis Mendez and Luis Cardenas.
