Developers Looking For Additional Fed Funds For Construction Of SWVA Solar Farm

Developers wanting to build a solar farm in Wise County are asking the feds for additional funds to make a former abandoned mine land site a solar farm reality. Sun Tribe Development asks for one and a half million dollars in grant monies to construct the 250 acre facility. That money would be placed with more than 50 million dollars in private investments for the project. Officials are hoping to build the solar project at the former Bold Camp mine site and is projected to have a 20 million dollar impact over the lifetime of the project.
