Kingsport Joins Unique Partnership To Improve Dental Health In Region
Rural areas in East Tennessee rank near the bottom nationally when it comes to the number of dentists per capita, which can lead to additional problems with good, dental hygiene for many. The city of Kingsport took the first step Tuesday night by approving a partnership with ETSU, UT, and Ballad Health to improve dental health services in the region. Kingsport’s part in all of this is similar to its assistance with the Academic Village, which has proved successful. The city will supply the space for the project. The doors to the Appalachian Highlands Dental Clinic could open for students and patients in 2024.
