Human remains found at Bristol, Tennessee boat dock
Sullivan County investigators and officers with the TBI were called to Observation Knob Park in Bristol Thursday morning after the discovery of human remains.
An SCSO spokesperson told Bristol Broadcasting News the call about the discovery came in just before 10 a.m. The caller said that the remains were in the vicinity of the park’s boat ramp.
The remains were bagged and placed into a county coroner’s van just after 1 p.m. where they were then transported to a medical examiner’s office in Johnson City. The spokesperson said the remains were those of an adult.
Dive team members were seen in the waters surrounding the docks conducting reviews in and under the water while other officers could be seen examining nearby garbage containers.
The spokesperson said there was no threat to the public and the investigation is continuing.
