NEW: Carter County man indicted for murder of wife in August
The Carter County, Tennessee man accused of killing his wife and leaving her body inside a burning car has been indicted for first-degree murder.
Sheriff Mike Fraley’s report said Brandon Clay Carrier was served Monday in jail while awaiting a hearing on an outstanding charge.
University of Tennessee forensic analysts identified the body of Shannon Marie Isaacs after the remains were sent to Knoxville for proper ID after they were discovered on Aug. 23 when she did not pick up her children from school.
Carrier also faces charges of abuse of a corpse, setting fire to personal property, and two counts of tampering with evidence.
