Western North Carolina teen killed in farming accident
Funeral services are set for this week in neighboring North Carolina for a 14-year-old high school student killed in a farming accident.
Watauga County Superintendent Scott Elliott has requested prayers for the family of Cole Ellis. A preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office revealed Cole became pinned underneath a tractor when the machine overturned while he was feeding cattle on family property in Sugar Grove just west of Boone.
Cole’s family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made in tribute to the teen to the local Future Farmers of America organizations.
