Fatal crash reported in Tazewell County

The Virginia State Police have released a preliminary report on a fatal crash in Tazewell County on Route 460.

The report said Mary LaPerla, 42, of Oakwood, pulled into the path of an oncoming pickup truck from Limestone Road in Pounding Mill. La Perla was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver received serious injuries. Another motorist struck debris from the crash but was not injured.
