Tennessee chase ends in Scott County, Virginia with one arrest

A patrol cruiser and another vehicle were damaged but no injuries were reported during a vehicle pursuit in Gate City on Tuesday.

Scott County Sheriff Jeff Edds said his officers were assisting Sullivan County police who were chasing Jason Paul Carrier in Tennessee.

Carrier’s car could be seen on US 23 with the hood open blocking the windshield. He jumped out of the car near the Jackson St quarry pond and was apprehended. Carrier faces three charges including assault on law enforcement.
