Brooks Savage named 19th head coach of ETSU mens’ basketball program

Brooks Savage, an assistant coach during Steve Forbes’ run in Johnson City, was introduced Monday as ETSU’s new head basketball coach.

Savage is a South Carolina native who joined Forbes at Wake Forest before his hiring. His resume also includes stints as an assistant under Bruce Pearl at Tennessee and at So-Con rival Chattanooga.

At each of those stops, the Vols and Mocs made the NCAA tournament. Athletic Director Richard Sander thinks Savage can bring the ETSU Tough moniker back to the Buccaneers.
