Suspect identified in late night shooting in Blountville

Sullivan County investigators have secured an arrest warrant for a Johnson City man accused in a late-night shooting in Blountville.

Mitchell Runnings, 40, is accused of wounding a woman in the hand as she tried to leave the residence in the 300 block of Cave Hill Road. Deputies said the victim also had other multiple injuries from a fight with the suspect.

Runnings fled the scene as officers arrived. He is charged with aggravated assault.
