Kingsport’s Economic Development Efforts Beginning To Pay Off
Kingsport’s economic development efforts are beginning to pay off. That’s the word the Board of Mayor and Alderman got from a recent, day long, strategic planning session. The Model City, now operating with a full time economic development office is experiencing growth on several fronts. Activity is underway in downtown, as well as retail and the housing industry. Three new stores have located at the Kingsport Pavilion, numerous renovations are underway in the downtown district and the developer for the Brickyard Property is proposing to increase the number of units from 386 to 442.
