Kingsport City Schools Adjusting Budget To Provide Five Percent Pay Increase
Beginning teachers in Kingsport will be making 45 thousand 629 dollars thanks in part to Governor Bill Lee’s recently signed Tennessee Teacher Pay Protection Act. The district is making adjustments to its upcoming budget in order to provide the pay raise which equates to a five percent increase. A teacher with a masters degree and no experience can make 50 thousand 779 dollars per year. The state restructured the way they fund school systems and that resulted in an increase in funding for Kingsport City Schools.
