Weather officials confirm third tornado touchdown in Southwest Virginia
Further review of last week’s weather event by the National Weather Service has confirmed the touchdown of a third tornado in Southwest Virginia.
The EF0 cyclone was recorded three miles west of Pennington Gap in the vicinity of Poor Valley Road with a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
Weather officials announced two prior tornadoes with EF1 winds touched down within minutes of each other in Stickelyville in Lee County and Duffield in Scott County.
