Jonesborough Leaders Raise Property Taxes
As expected, the Jonesborough Board of Mayor and Alderman approved next year’s budget that includes a 25 cent property tax hike Monday night. The increase will jump to one dollar and 45 cents per one hundred dollars of assessed property value. Town leaders say inflation and approved projects are to blame for the rate hike. The board also approved unanimously to raise waste collection, water, and sewer fees.
