Public Hearing Over Bristol, Virginia Landfill Set For Tuesday
A public hearing before a judge is scheduled for Tuesday in a lawsuit between Bristol, Virginia and Bristol, Tennessee over the plagued Bristol Virginia landfill that is now closed. City leaders from both sides reached an agreement earlier. According to the court order issued by a U.S. District Judge, it’s up to the court to determine if the settlement is fair, adequate, reasonable, and in the public interest. Bristol, Virginia is expected to pay Bristol Tennessee 300 thousand dollars as part of the settlement. The meeting takes place at ten this morning at the federal courthouse in Abingdon.
